Indigenous Resistance

The Day Of Indigenous Resistance is a holiday that’s observed on the 12th of October in some Latin American countries. While many people around the world celebrate Christopher Columbus “discovering” the Americas on this day, this holiday disagrees that he discovered anything since people were already living in these places.

for this reason, Unidad Popular celebrates La Guelaguetza on the second Sunday of every October in commemoration of our indigenous families and ancestors.
